Opthamologist gave me drops to dialate pupils??

Question: Today I had a test for glaucoma and the doctor put in eye drops for me to dialate my pupils so it is easier to test the eye. She said my eyes will go back to normal in 6 hours. It's been around 7 hrs and my eyes only contract a little but are still dilated. Should I be concerned? Could this be permanent?
Answers: No. If you have light eyes this is normal. If you have brown eyes (which are harder to dilate) she May have used a stronger drop which would keep your pupils dilated longer. If you are light sensitive just wear sunglasses until the effect of the drops wears off.
no it's completely normal...i had to have a test like that once and i woke up the next DAY with still partially dilated pupils!!! it was crazy!!!! it's completely normal, differs with everyone
nothing to worry about.. for some people it may take longer than even a day!!
no worries
may be u just have sluggish pupil
no worries..
and you worry bout the drops!!??? i would worry more about the other thing you mentioned !! uoy see , i have Glaucoma' and eyedrops is the least of my problem!!!!
Do not be concerned. Depending on how many drops the doctor put in your eyes can depend on when the medication wears off. I know from personal experience that those little drop containers can often pour out a few more drops at a time then needed and unfortunately for the patient this can cause them to have their eyes dilated for longer then the doctor intended. Also some people can be extra sensitive to the medication but this is not a bad thing.
Most likely...it's just a variant in how long your eyes metabolize the dilating drop.

I've been told my eyes will be back to normal in 4-6 hours...usually takes ME a lot longer, and in a couple of cases, depending on the actual drug used...I'm still slightly dilated 24 hours later. The fact that you see them contracting is a sign the dilating agent is starting to wear off.
If it lasts longer than 24 hours give the office a call. They will know what to do from there. Some people do not UND dilate as fast as they Dilate. What is going on here, is not unusual, just not the norm. I do not get alarmed until the 24 hour mark.
