My glasses give me a headache!!!??
Question: I recently got a new pair of glasses. My eyes have caused me trouble this year - an infection that won't clear up (now on another prescription of 3 types of eyedrops) causing constantly watering eyes + my vision deteriorating have all led me to needing glasses. I got my first pair in January for which I originally only needed to see things on the board at school but have used them more often. It's now got to the point where I felt I needed glasses permanently because most things that aren't right near me are a bit of a blur. So yesterday I got new glasses after a more recent eye test and decided to wear them full-time.
But I noticed that I was getting a headache from wearing them yesterday. Apart from that they were fine - I could see clearer and they were useful for things like the computer. I just assumed the headache thing was something that would pass with time. But today it's just as bad, and worryingly the computer screen looks slightly blurred with them on. Any advice?????
Answers: Go back to the optician - the prescription may need adjusting. I've always had problems when I have a new prescription and sometimes it's taken them 3 re-makes to get them right. Sometimes your eyes will take a little time to adjust to a new prescription, but if they're giving you headaches then something is not right. Don't not wear them, take them back and insist on getting them checked and re-made if necessary. You may even need to re take an eye test just to tweak the prescription. All of this should cost you no extra money than you've already paid. The main thing is that you must keep going until the glasses actually improve your sight.
If you are using a computer then you should be taking breaks here and there. But please go back to your optician and explain your problems if they continue x
Go and see your optician :]
print your question and pop it down to your opticians they should be able to help goodluck.
maybe you need weeker glasses
I think that maybe your glasses are a bit too strong for your eyes.
On the other hand it could be that you still need a bit more time to adapt to it.
If you still have worries then I'm sure that your Opticians are willing to help out and maybe you could get a better pair.
Take care and good luck

That happens after you recently got glasses! Your eyes are just irritated from the fact that they're different from what they were previously used to. I would give it a week, and if the problem persists, consult an optician.
Feliz Navidad!
It's not unusual for people, EVEN YOUNG PEOPLE who are nearsighted to be advised to remove their glasses for close work. However, you should definitely talk to your eye doctor about any discomfort after a new prescription. That's what you pay them for.
go back to your eye doctor or a differnet one soon this week!
Your eyes are being strained, take breaks without the glasses. It is due to sudden change. You need to gradually work into the new glasses.
take some breaks if you don't need them for the computer, then don't bother wearing them. you will get used to wearing them anyway. over exposure to computer screens are always bad and causes blurryness to me as well.
