My son needs rehab. How long does it take for Marijuana to leave his system??

Question: My handsome, intelligent 17 year-old has fallen in with the wrong crowd, he is entering rehab very soon! How long does it take for the pot to get out of his system? Will his body crave it, or his mind?
Will he be in pain? I love him so very much, he has a bright and prosperous future, if he can stay clean. Please help. Thank you.
Answers: Rehab for pot? Really? I'm glad you're not my mom... you don't sound like you know anything about pot..
it dosent it will take its toll in his life. his body will need it
Pot is not addictive!! And not at all harmful. But if he is getting rehab its not for the pot, Its to keep him away from the wrong crowd. and That is a good thing.
if you have been listening to the news
many celebs have gone into rehab
all of them had a different rehab time
it may take a few days or months.
if you know God pray to him for your sons guidance.
When you ask the question “How long does marijuana stay in your system?” you need to take into account the fact that there is no simple answer to this question. THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) can stay in a person's body for as long as 3 to 90 days after smoking or being ingested orally. There are numerous determining factors for how long drug toxins stay in a persons body which vary from person to person, such as the analytical method used, your health, your body weight, metabolism, fluid intake, the type of drug toxin, and the degree of exposure to the drug toxin.

The speed at which marijuana leaves your body depends both on the speed of your metabolism, as well as on the half life of THC. It’s estimated that THC can have a half life that ranges anywhere from 1-10 days. It’s almost impossible to find out what that half life is, which means that it is very difficult to use it to calculate how long it will take for all of the THC to leave your body.

For this reason, when you ask “How long does marijuana stay in your system?” you have to realize that it’s very unlikely that you’ll be able to get a usable answer. The most common period of time is anywhere from 3-30 days, depending on your metabolism and the amount of marijuana that you’ve smoked. This is unfortunate, since it means that while most drug tests can only turn up evidence of other drugs if you’ve been taking the drug within a few days of the drug test, marijuana could still be detected in a urine test up to a month after the last time it is used. If you smoke it occasionally it will remain in your system for up to 10 days. If you smoke marijuana on a regular basis it will stay in your system for as long as 45 days, and if you smoke marijuana at a constant pace, it can stay in the body for 90 days, Marijuana is fat soluble. It stores in the fat cells of the body, the brain, the liver, the kidneys, in other words the major organs.
I think it takes 30 days from the last one he smoked. I have never heard of anyone craving it from trying to stop, nor have I ever heard of anyone being in pain from not having it.
it not the drug dig deeper he trying fix in maybe at school or maybe at home maybe it he not in sport
It only takes about 3 days to a week to leave his system, the real problem is psychological dependency. There's no withdrawl, no pain, no cravings. People who smoke pot for long periods report a dull achiness of spirit . Meaning boredom, slight depression and a certain staleness all contribute to the dependency. Its not addictive, and the jury is still out on how harmful it is, the people surrounding it may be the worst danger.
It normally takes 30 days for marijuana to get out of your system. I really do not think that marijuana is addictive, more a state of mind. His body won't really won't crave it. I believe it's more a feeling of hopelessness, or dispair. Like tomorrows future is pretty bleek. I'm a 50 year old female, and smoked pot back in the days. Kids will go through this, experimentation if you will. He needs a path, something to look forward to. Marijuana is not bad, actually its very relaxing. You never hear of anyone killing someone while they are on pot, normally they will eat you out of house and home. Actually they are quite comical to watch. Maybe you should try a joint and see how it feels, like layed back and in the groove. I'm sorry, I just think that you are overreacting, it's not like he's on crack or something. Marijuana is more a sedative than anything else, I really don't feel that you need to go to the expense of rehab. Pot Marijuana makes you feel good and makes you feel like you are in tuned with the rest of the world. I personally think that they would be better of prescribing pot to teens than Ritalin. At least later in life they don't get suicidal. Sit down with you son and roll up a blunt and smoke it, that will change you mind. I realize that you love your son, but you need to open your mind. A family should stick together not turn each other in to the law. If you really love your son, you should sit down and do this with him, your relationship will blossum and you'll laugh your a** off!!!! It's a feel good drug, like dang I feel good, no harm has ever been proven from smoking marijuana=)'
Around three months for it to completely clear his system. The 'need' for rehab is dependant on how long he has been using and how long he is able to go without the drug without cravings. Marijuana is considered somewhat of a minor drug in comparason to cocaine etc. If he is entering rehab there should be psychiatrists and psychologists who will monitor his cravings. Chances are he won't be in pain possible discomfort but not actual pain. Expirimentation with marijuana among teens is very common so do not be overly alarmed. It has no real long term affects on the brain or body.
My ex went from smoking just a bit of pot on ocassion to sniffing coke, so just watch for signs of his behavior. Going out all the time, coming home at 3 am, stealing and other bad behavior. If he is hanging with the wrong crowd then i'm sure pot will turn into more deadly drugs. Rehab is not always a cure. Find out what he is missing in his life that he has to smoke weed. Does he have a father that lives at home? What about family hx of drugs or addiction? Something is missing and that is why he smoked the weed.
Unlike what some other people are saying, I know that your concern is, in fact, valid. The amount of time marijuana stays in the system is unknown but could be as much as 90 days. Howvever, this is not the problem. Your son's body will NOT be craving marijuana. However, habitual marijuana smokers do experience psycological dependence. This is not BS as much as I wish it was. Too many of my friends cannot go for more than several days without smoking as they become severely depressed to the point they cannot function. I'm not condemning marijuana at all, I think it should be legal, but it should also be treated with respect. Your son will be fine, he just needs something to occupy his mind for a little bit while he breaks his habits.
