Rhinoplasty........??

Question: i've had a totally unattractive bump on my nose due to a baseball accident. the only way to get rid of it is to do rhinoplasty (surgury of the nose). the thing is: my parents are totally against ANY ajustments of my face. im desperate! i know i should appreciate my nose, but almost everybody i meet always comments on my nose sooner or later. its hidious; it embaresses me and lowers my self esteem; and its VERY noticable. ive been thinking about this for years and i definitly want to go through the process and remove the bump on my nose, but my parents will disagree and would never agree for me to get it. can someone help me? how do i convince them its for the best? im totally down in the blues
Answers: Depending on how old you are, just go out and get it done yourself and then once it is done, what can they say, go have it undone? Since it was an accident and if it is bothering your health, then your insurance might pay for it. Other than that, you might have to wait until you are older. Your parents are so stuck on you not changing you face, they don't even care what you think or want? If they are so stuck on the old look of your face, what do they think now that it was changed due to the accident? They sound stupid to me, but hang in there!
Start saving money now and go have the surgery when you turn 18. That way the parents won't have anything to do with it at all.

Your parents are probably hesitating because of the cost involved, and not for any other reason. Elective surgery such as rhinoplasty is seldom covered by insurance, even if you have insurance.

In the meantime, people will either accept you for who you are and how you look, or they're just not worth your time.
Well if you are an adult you can make your own decisions. You will have to pay for the surgery though. If you are a kid the only thing you can do, I'm sorry to say, is wait until you are 18 and moved out.
I'm having my nose fixed on the 28th. My dog accidentally smacked into my nose last week and now it's broken (and crooked). I am having breathing problems with it the way it is now and that is why I am having it fixed (it doesn't look real crooked, just slightly). Check with your doctor. Mine said that sinus headaches can be caused by the problems with the nose. I liked the way I looked before and the money is tight with me, but I sure like breathing better than cash and the headaches will go away also. Good luck on your choice and wish me luck with mine.
