Will my body recover from my eating disorder????

Question: Hi, I'm 17, 5 ft 7 and weight around 110lbs. I'm recovering from anorexia. I know I'm underweight and need to put on some more pounds. I'm afraid if I start eating normal amounts of food though, that my weight will shoot up because my metabolism is probably pretty low right now, given that I haven't really been eating that much. Will my metabolism ever return back to normal? Will my periods start again if I gain weight? And how can I put on weight but avoid getting fat?? Please help..!!!
Answers: Eat a balanced diet. Fruit and veg and foods with low fat content. A slimming world eating plan would be a good place to start - NOT to loose weight but to get to your target weight.
It helps regulate your metabolism and increases your energy levels. your skin will glow, your periods will return and confidence will rocket. However if you feel your eating order is still in control you need professional help.

I wish you all the best. Good Luck

xx
yes, your body will recover and your periods will start again.
if you start eating properly, maybe following a nutritionist's diet plan, or seeking the help of another specialist, your body will gain weight ''normally''
well your body will be fine unless you got any organ damage (which im sure you dont have since you would be in great pain)

but if you have low meta. then eat lots of protien and calaries foods (chicken does it well) and do light weights.
Congratulations on your recovery. If you are worried about this issue, seek support from your doctor who will refer you to a dietician. The dietician will guide you with an eating plan and you can go for regular check ups. You deserve to get as much help as you need to get through this next stage to being properly healthy again, but you have done brilliantly to get this far, so well done! I have friends who used to be anorexic and with proper diet support, their periods came back to normal and they look fab.
You should see a nutrionist to help you. But I agree that a diet with good proteins is a good start. Try eating red potatoes for good carbs. good luck to you:)
Unfortunately, your body has been through a rough time with the anorexia. But, the body is an amazing thing. Over time, your body will heal itself. You have to work slowly into eating normal . Your body will not be able to handle normal eating habits due to the stress it has been put through. You need to slowly work your way to a normal diet. As long as you don't gorge yourself on cake and fast food, you will not become fat. Good Luck :)
Mine did. i admit it wasnt easy. You need to eat lots of protein foods and if you can eat dairy produce, you really need the calcium my teeth and bones have suffered, but my periods got bach to normal as soon as i got to 7 stone, i found it easier to eat small amounts of food ( 6 small meals a day) rather than the large portions 3-4 times a day. Take it one day at a time, and always praise yourself your doing an amazing thing

good luck
i dropped to 7stone my periods stopped for 11 months once i regained my weight they came back but wernt regular good luck
