STRANGE VIRUS or BACTERIAL INFECTION??
Question: Okay, this started 3 days ago with intense chills, then progressed into a throbbing headache matched with body aches and a high fever. I was convinced I had the flu, but once the fever went down, red pimple like spots appeared on my torso and I now have just a really sore throat, no coughing or stufffy nose or anything. Now these bumps are spread all over my body, including my face and neck, and turning into what looks like blisters, but they itch and sting intensely. Not poison ivy, not chicken pox, I'm not sure what it is. Any info or help would be greatly appreciated.
Answers: Honestly, sounds like shingles! Sorry hon!
Also, how are you sure it's not the chicken pox? Have you ever had Rubella? Could be that too
Bacterial infection. You got the plague girl! See a doctor or go to the hospital immeadiately
I doubt greatly that it's the plague, but it does sound like a bacterial infection, maybe impetigo. You need to get to the doctor first thing Monday a.m. Most bacterial infections that include rashes are pretty contagious, so try to avoid close contact with people, wash your hands very frequently. Try taking a bath in warm water with either baking soda or colloidal oatmeal to relieve the itching.
There are lots of other viral infections that have spots - measles, German measles (rubella). You can catch them even if you have been vaccinated, if you didn't make a strong immune response to the vaccine. My son has hand-foot-mouth disease at the moment which is caused by coxsackie virus (but it generally only affects toddlers/babies and guess where the blisters appear? Hands, feet, mouth! He also has little pimples on his legs and butt, but not on his torso). What you describe sounds a lot like chicken pox, are you sure it isn't that?
Shingles is a reactivation of varicella virus (the one that causes chicken pox) in someone who already had it. It usually is located on the torso only and follows a line. It is a lot more painful rather than itchy. It doesn't sound like you have Shingles.
You should see your doctor who will give you the correct diagnosis after seeing your symptoms.
the exact same thing happened to me just 4 months ago exact same symptoms, i went to the docs woth the really sore throat and was given antibiotics 3 dayslater the spots appeared just like yours itchy abd stingy and blister like , went back to doctor and was referred to hospital, dermatology they told me i had guttate psoriasis brought on by the fever and the sore throat,my body had reacted so badly to the sore throat that its only way to react to it was the psoriasis, i am noe on phototherapy treatment twice a week and its helping greatly hope this helps you out but go and see your doc could be exactlyt waht happened to me. i have never had psoriasis in my life b4 and i am 45.

Tuberculosis (TB) is a bacteria that usually causes disease in the lung.
In the past, tuberculosis was called consumption, because it seemed to consume people from within, with a bloody cough
