Is this an eating disorder??

Question: if a girl is lactose intalerant (sorry about spelling) and she over eats dairy products because it makes her poop a lot, so she'll lost weight...?? is this a huge health problem? is it an eating disorder?

and is this.... ---> she will go a couple of days without eating then eat a ton one day and then repeat that...

are these eating disorders that i should be concerned about for her? should i talk to her or get her help?
Answers: I think it is a disorder. you should go on a diet not on unhelthey diet to lose waigh. she should like her self for how she is.
I think its sorat a health prob.
Sounds like a disorder to me. Get her some help!
Sounds like an eating disorder to me. I would talk to a trusted adult first, and have them help you make a good decision. I would not wait long.
I can honestly tell you I don't know but it does sound a bit unhealthy.
Oh yeah, this is an eating disorder. Is it normal to make yourself sick so you can lose weight? Why can't she exercise or eat broccoli or salads instead. My eating disorder has ruined my health and I even wonder if I can have kids anymore because I am all messed up from it.
i'd say thats an eating disorder cuz shes only eating dairy so she'll poop so she'll lose weight.
I would say that yes, overeating dairy and skipping meals are 2 types of eating disorders. I would get her help, because if you talk to her about it first and then you tell someone she will know it was you and could possibly get mad. Tell a counselor or teacher.
I do it all the time. Well, not all the time, but sometimes I lapse back into it. I used to also be a bulimic till I got married.

Yes it is an eating disorder and a mental problem. You should be concerned coz she is losing nutrients and has other things behind why she is doing it too that she needs help with.
it sure sounds like one. and you should be concerned. talk to her and suggest that she talk to a ED counselor. they may be able to get her out of the anorexia cycle early on.
She have a very serious health problem and needs to go to the doctor immediately.
hmm.. well it sort of does seem like that.. but eating so you lose wieght? has she said thats why she does it? if so, it probably is
:(
If she eat that kind of food in order to lose weigth then yes it is a eating disorder.
actually her doing that is damaging her system because everytime she uses the bathroom she is losing the potassium levels in her body so Yes that is an eating disorder and she really needs to talk to someone about it because she can cause some serious harm to her body and if you are a good friend you will find her the help she needs.
If this question is for real, I think you already know the answer to your question. Yes this is a big problem. You really need to get some help. Please look for a professional that can help you with this problem. Good Luck!
Its unhealthy for anyone to go days without eating and then pig out...i wouldnt say its a serious eating disorder ...but because shes lactose intolerant she has to be alot more careful to not get sick...and it could be the start of a more serious eating disorder.
i wouldn't consider that an eating disorder. Pooping a lot would cause her to become dehydrated which, in turn, would make her lose weight temporarily. That would not make her lose fat, only water which is dangerous to your health. If she is pooping a lot she needs to make sure she is getting adequate amounts of water to replace what she has lost.
If she is skipping meals it is an eating disorder. Binging, eating lots of food at once, is a disorder. Using lactose intolerance as a sort of natural laxative really isn't an eating disorder. The dairy is digested by bacteria (instead of lactose enzyme) and nutrition is absorbed in the intestine the same way that people with the lactose enzyme absorb nutrients.
Your friend should eat everyday, several small meals. And she should realize that the food is still being absorbed, even if she tries to fool her body with dairy.
Yes! Be a good friend or relative and have a word with her. binge eating and then forcing yourself to have diarrhea or vomiting are the classic signs of a eating disorder. Not eating at all (if it is a disorder or not) is just unhealthy on its own. Have a word with your friend. If that doesn't help, be a tough love friend and go to someone that may help get her to listen (like a parent, boyfriend or someone that is an authority figure to her). Eating disorders are very dangerous and something that needs to be dealt with quickly.
pooping wont make you lose weight
not eating will...
better to eat regular small amounts and keep the metabolism burning
hm yeah, her using diary products to she'll have diharrea is a form of using a laxative which is common in bulimics.

the same goes for not eating and then eating a ton.

you should talk to her a little and see whats up, and if nothing helps ask someone else for help with her! good luck!
Get her help, she is injuring her body.
Anorexia eating disorders are if she obsesses over weight issues, even though she is not overweight. She would tend to skip meals or undertake other kinds of behavior to avoid eating.

For binge eating, she eats a ton and then vomits afterwards so that she does not absorb what she has eaten.

Frankly, I've not heard about using one's lactose intolerance to achieve weight loss.

Her behavior is odd and sounds like a mental problem. She needs help.

Yes, they are signs that her eating is headed for serious trouble.

Talk to a school counselor and see what they can offer in the way of advice and referral for your friend.
