Is perthes disease curable??

Question: My son been diagnosed with perthes disease in his right hip, he is now three and half years. Kids in his age are hyper active and we have been told to let him settle down as much as we can. What can we do for him ? we need to know if this disease curable and will not affect him in future, like practicing sports in general. I pulled him out of his school shortly, even i want him to have fun and feel normal (not labeled).
Any tips or advice in my son's case? i will appreciate your help.

Answers: Legg-CalvĂ©-Perthes disease is idiopathic aseptic necrosis of the femoral capital epiphysis.
Children younger than 6 who receive treatment are more likely to end up with a normal hip joint. Children older than age 6 to 8 are more likely to end up with a deformed hip joint, despite treatment, and to develop arthritis later in life.

It is important that you treat this seriously. Head the advice of the doctors. If you feel like the doctor isn't taking it seriously please see another. Do your research. THe previous post spelled the disease correctly- google it and read up as much as you can. This could warrent an early hip replacement in the future. best of luck.
