I need some advice about my spinal disorder??

Question: I was wondering if someone knows...should someone who has 2 compressions on their lumbar spine have surgery? I have 2 discs that are almost completely gone and 2 more that are black as coal on the M.R.I. My doctors refuse to recommend me for surgery and my pain meds have run out...and they refuse to prescribe me more because of my insurance...Is there a doctor out here in cyberspace that can help me with this by giving me a little free advice?
Answers: you might want to try a pain management doctor or even have a surgical consult. i had unexplained pain for 8 months and went to a surgical consult and the surgeon figured out right quick that i didn't need surgery and that injections would probably do the job and sent me to a diagnostic and pain management doctor who took care of it. i have had several more injuries since then, but i still continue to go to my pain management doctor. the understand what you are going through more than other doctors and most of the time, doctor's do not refuse to give you pain meds, so you might want to try another doctor anyway, because most doctor's, if insurance is a problem, will try to get you samples or try an alternative med that isn't as expensive.
just trying to help....
NO DOCTOR IS GOING TO REFUSE YOU MEDICINE ON THE BASIS OF INSURANCE. THAT IS UNETHICAL MALPRACTICE AND QUITE CRUEL. THE ONLY PLACE THAT WOULD DENY YOU THE MEDS WOULD BE THE PHARMACY IF YOU COULD NOT PAY. NOW SURGERY, THERE ARE A MILLION REASONS WHY HE MAY NOT REFER FOR SURGERY. IE. WEIGHT, LIFESTYLE, ADDICTIONS. BUT REMEMBER THIS, THE TYPE OF SURGERY YOU ARE SUGGESTING COULD MAKE YOU WORSE. ALSO, MOST DISCS LOOK LIKE BLACK COAL DEPENDING ON THE WEIGHTED IMAGE.
