Which is incorrect about Staphylococcus aureus food intoxication??

Question: A. food gets contaminated by a human carrier
B. common associated foods include custards, ham, cream pastries, processed meats
C. after contamination, food must be left unrefregerated for a few hours
D. ingestion of the pathogen allows it to multiply and damage the GI tract lining
E. symptoms come on quickly, and include nausea, vomitting, diarrhea

I need the answer to my bonus question for my microbiology test. Please help!!!
Answers: I would say C.........not 100% sure but I have studied microbiology and this seems to be the only answer which makes sens to me.
I would say C, that one doesn't make sense...why would you do that? If it was contaminated, it should be discarded. A,
D, and E sound true to me, but I also question B... although it is possible. Well, if I were you I'd narrow it down to B and C and agonize over it more, then get frustrated and just pick one.

hey, I found some info that will help, it has to be C!!! check this out, it says the human is the resevior, the same foods are listed, the symptoms occur within 30 min, D is a no brainer, the bacteria multiplies when left unrefridgerated so if you left it unrefidgerated for a few hours after contamination, it will get worse, so C is you're answer.

The answer is D. Toxin ingestion is not reliant on live bacteria. If the food is contaminated by bacteria the low pH in the stomach kils any bacteria but is ineffective against the toxin.
