I know that I am really skinny, but what should I do about it??
Question: I am only 59 pounds, at 5 0, and I am 14 years old. People make fun of me, and my friends always ask me if I am anorexic, or how am I that skinny, and I get so mad. Becuase I am not anorexic, I eat TONS, but I just don't gain. What should I do? AM I too skinny?
I eat like at least 2,500 calories a day, but I just dont gain, I can eat at McDonald's (Which I don't) all day for a week and i still won't gain.
I don't have diabetes.
I don't have parasites, I don't have anything, no disease.
Both my parents are normal, my mom is slim, but she has a lot of muscle, my brother and sister are normal, and I hav one other sister who is just above the normal weight rnge for her height and age, she is really petite.
Nothing to do with my thyroid.
I am very active.
I do baseball in the Spring and Summers, once a week.
I do Tennis, once a week.
I do Basketball once a week.
Answers: If you're Dr isn't concerned about it then you shouldn't be either. I've been skinny all my life (and I'm 30 now) and my Dr says I'm one of the healthiest patients he has.
Sounds like you're in good health based on your post. You're only 14, your body is still changing. Give it some time. You'll change in the next few years. Trust me.
Love yourself for who you are. It's unfortunate that your 'friends' make fun of you. Friends are supposed encourage and support each other. Regardless, love yourself and accept yourself just as you are. Your worth does not ride on the number on the scale. The fact that you breathe means you have great worth. God put you here on this earth for a specific purpose. Remember that. As long as you're healthy, your body will do what it needs to do to stay that way.
Eat at McDonalds
I don't really know if I beleive that your 5 foot and only weigh 59 lbs, but if you do maybe you should she a doctor because that is a really low weight.
i am older now but i use to have the same problem i wasnt that skinny i was 5'4 and weigh about 115 which was small and i ate 7 times a day, as long as your body gets its proper nutrients theres no problem i was 14 then i am 22 now and i weigh 172 so i have gained 60 pounds since then and wenty from skinny to chubby, its just your matabolisim
As long as you are healthy thats all it matters. I have a friend in the same situation, she is 5'5 and is 87 lbs. She started drinking protien shakes and working out and she reached 110lbs. but could not keep up with the routine and so she lost it again. Just embrace yourself, a lot of girls would love to be in your place.
I would suggest talking to a doctor, just to make sure you are tottally healthy. You might be hyper metabolic
I'm 5'0 also! I'm not skinny, though... I think it's funny that we are the same height and like 100 lbs different... isn't that kinda cool? How the human body comes in so many different shapes and sizes! I think that's neat.
Aren't some people just so rude?? You know, if you were fat people wouldn't make those comments to you... but they think that just because you are skinny it's okay, when really it's the same thing... you are probably almost as self conscience about your thinness as a heavy person is about their weight, also.
I think so many people struggle with gaining weight that just want some kind of miracle diet or way of living that will make them super thin, and they assume since you are, you must have it...
We all have to deal with stupid people every day, this is your annoyance in life. But be glad that you are too skinny and not the opposite, society is much more forgiving of that, plus you are healtier, and that's a good thing!
As soon as you start your period you will start to slowly fill out a little. You will probably look pretty much like your mom by the time you are my age (23)... enter your twenties will do that to you...
For now, just be grateful for who you are, embrace the fact that people can be so different, and ignore stupid people...
Or you could just memorize a few quippy snarky comments for such occasions
Q: Are you anorexic?
A: Yes! You should try it!
Q: Is there something wrong with your health that makes you so thin?
A: Is there something wrong with your mouth that makes you so rude?
haha... okay, those aren't that funny, I'm sure you can think of more clever ones!
Good Luck!!
my friend is 25 yrs old and she is about 5'7... dont know the exact weight but she is taking medication to gain weight. she eats so much and has a problem gaining. since your so young maybe its nothing really to worry about. if you are super worried, go to the doctor.

That should be alright. Try taking vitamin B. Try having meals at much longer intervals, that should slow down your metabolic rate
Drink boost or ensure with every meal. Eat a good amount of protein. I ate loaded baked potatoes everyday for two weeks and i picked up 15 lbs.

it sounds like you may burn about 2500 calories a day with all the stuff you do, in which case you wouldn't gain any weight. if it doesn't cause any health problems i wouldn't worry about it. you are who you are. if you really want to gain weight you just have to eat more calories than you burn.

That's really sad.
Maybe your 18 year old can spend MORE time with her. Take her for a bike ride, go for a walk, go to the park and play--try to get the little girl active!

unhealthy eating can affect many things. Thought processes can be affected IE children who have poor eating habits do not do as well in school with missed breakfasts being an important factor. This is
low fat food greens and fruit u wont be hungry, eat 6 times a day, exercise a bit like 15 minutes of walking and watch yourself melt away.
