Please help me, I hate being fat.??
Question: can't stand being locked in my body anymore. I am 35 years old and over the past 6 years I went from 130 lbs to 230 lbs. This happened after I lost my father to diabetes and heart disease and I lost my daughter to a rare birth defect. I spent 6 yrs on antidepressants and ballooned. I have tried working out and get discouraged after a month or so. I feel like I am to far gone and will be fat the rest of my life. Please give me the gift of inspiration. I need it desperately. I have been off antidepressents for 6 months now.
Answers: The fact that you are headed for heart disease and diabetes yourself if you don't get a hold on this should be inspiration enough! No doubt the antidepressants had alot to do with you gaining weight. If you really do want to lose weight you can but it takes commitment. You don't need a diet you need a lifestyle change! That's what you need to realize diets don't work, you gain it back you have to adopt healthy eating habits and a fitness routine that you can make a routine part of your daily life.
My advice to you is to enlist a personal trainer in your area that can get you started on a free weight and cardio routine. Cardio will burn that excess fat and free weight training will built quality lean muscle mass that will burn excess calories at rest.
Also you need to eat 5 small meals per day to boost your metabolism, drink lots of water and run the other way if you see junk food!
You can't get discouraged in a month! It took you 6 years to put that weight on it will not come off in a month! Do precisely what I have told you to do and give it 1 year and I gurantee that you will have lost many pounds and inches!
it is better to go through any of the diet plans

The Dr. who gave you the meds can help you with nutrition information and drink lots of water. Walk 1 mile a day to start out with. Don't give up. At your age it won't be that hard to loose it. But again your Dr. can help.
Wow I am 35 and over the last 2 years have gained a lot of weight too, almost exactly the same amount as you. I know the feeling. You mentioned your father had diabetes. Have you been checked for this? This may have something to do with your weight. Also, some anti-depressants can cause you to gain major weight. They say the benefits outweigh (no pun intended) the weight gain, however if your weights making you depressed, than you should work this out with your doctor. I try to make sure I do my make up and dress nice so that I dont totally lose all self esteem, I also keep busy doing thingas that make me happy, and to tell you the truth more men try to talkl to me now that I am more mentally fit then when I was skinny. I find helping other people makes me feel really good and it makes others feel good too. I think because Ive had a personality change, from being b*tchy and skinny to being cheery and thick I am better able to get along with people. Try to find things that make you happy, youll be more attractive to others that way believe it or not. Of course some jerks will tell you otherwise, are they the kind of people youre trying to attract anyways?
I can help you lose weight and get the happiness back again!
