How many ounces of soda can i drink per week, without being unhealthy??
Question: i love soda, but i heard one can a day can make you obese and give you diabetes. i recently tried to stop drinking soda, i went 2 and a half days. i will never stop drinking soda, but i will watch how much i drink per week. so how many ounces can i drink per week without running the risk of getting diabetes?
Answers: Drinking pop is about as bad as eating a lot of candy, as it contains a great deal of sugar. The thing about pop as opposed to candy as we often don't think about pop as a calorie-adder because it isn't food. Most pops also contain caffeine, which is a diurectic, and will dehydrate you. Think about how much pop you drink in a week and see if you can replace half of it with water, milk, and healthy fruit juices (not drinks which are as bad as pop). There is no set amount that will prevent diabetes, this also depends on your other eating and exercise habits, as Type II diabetes generally occurs in individuals who are overweight and have generally poor eating habits, as well as a family predisposition
ZERO!
stop completely
the DIEt kinds are worse...for your body
Clean pure water, green tea and more pure water.
drink
like as much as you can
about 200 ounces
I honestly belive that anything in moderation is OK. I try to eat as healthfully as possible while still enjoying life, so I can't completely cut out my Coca Cola either and I refuse to try. I try to limit myself to 1 or 2 a week. The rest of the week all I ever really drink is water or green tea with fruity antioxidants. I never keep soda in the house anymore, so when I really want one I run to the store and buy just one.
I don't know if there's a safe limit as far as diabetes is concerned, but if you have a very healthful diet all-around, eating plenty of fiber and slow-burning, whole carbs, the sugar in a couple cans of Coke a week probably won't hurt you in the long run.
This is just my opinion, of course, but I'm pretty damn healthy and my annual bloodwork always comes out great - glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides, etc.
i would say stop completely as well
i recently read this book and it said that soda is one of the worst things ever, its like all the other sugary fizzy drinks, but also diet soda is really bad because these sweeteners are proved to be cancer evoking substances.
so do not even try to switch to diet soda.
just drink water...and eat lots of fruit..
I'm in a similar situation....... I had to switch to diet soda, no more than 40 ounces a day. One with lunch and one with dinner. Try the diet Dr Pepper, I didn't get an aftertaste.
