I am 5'8'' at 140, and this hip/waist calculator is saying that I am at an increased risk for diabetes...??

Question: I'm not entirely certain why. I'm in shape and exercise daily. As far as my body shape is concerned, I have broad shoulders, am busty, have an irregularly small waist, and normal hip measurements in comparison to my shoulders. Why is it saying this? What do I do?
Answers: I don't see why at 140 pounds and with your height you would have an increased risk of diabetes. Unless your waist measures over a thirty-five, than you should be fine. On the BMI (body mass index) you would be considered OK. Ask your doctor.
Are you measuring in the right place?

You measure the waist at the smallest point, usually a bit above your belly button and you measure the hips at the large circumference of your buttocks and thighs.
