What do I put in my swollen face, cold or warm compresses??

Question: I seem to have an infection in a tooth and can't see the dentist until tomorrow. My face is so swollen that my lower lip covers my top lip; I look like an alien! Do I apply ice to bring it down or warm? Thank you, guys!
Answers: Cold compresses are useful at the start of an inflammation process because cold can reduce blood circulation and retard the edema; warm compresses are useful at the middle of an inflammatory process so the blood can arrive to the site and repair the damage.

In your specific case the goal is to attack the cause of your swollen so, in my opinion you may ask (personally) a doctor for an analgesic (it will also help to reduce inflammation) and for an antibiotic that are good for you.

Hope you get well. ;-)
cool compress, heat will cause more blood circulation and help spread the infection. The focal point of the infection should come to the top of the tissue, if possible open the site and allow what infection you can to drain. If you have any antibiotics in the house take them.
hi
i would go with warm because i had the same problem and decided on warm after about an hour of hot packs the absess poped and the swelling went down a lot and the pain was gone' but be sure to spit out the poison
Use cold. If there is an infection the warm compress can draw more infection out into your face.
