Is this an inflamed taste bud or something worse??

Question: Yesterday I woke up with a slightly painful, red, raised, bump on the left side of my tounge. It looks to be filled with liquid. It's towards the back; closer to my molars than the front of my mouth. It is quite small, the size of a small pimple. It doesn't seem like a canker sore and I'm hoping it's not a cold sore, since I have never had cold sores. From time to time I get similiar bumps on the insides of my cheeks. Those, however, are painless and they are filled with liquid but pop within hours of me noticing them and then heal. This is the first bump I have ever gotten on my tongue ever. I first experienced the bumps on my cheeks when I had braces years ago. I never have outbreaks. It's usually just one bump here or there, and only occasionally. This one worried me though. Could I have caused it by biting my tongue in my sleep (trauma) ? So far googling has done nothing but cause more worry.
Answers: I get those after eating salty foods, like fries or chips. Not much you can do until it pops! But if you are worried, it never hurts to have it looked at by a professional.
