Swimmers itch? ever heard of it and anybody knows the cure??

Question: my body itches whenever i have my bath
Answers: Yeah I've had it. Stay out of the water for a week and it will clear up on its own. By the way I am THE ALL AMERICAN!!!!
What is the source of water for your bath?
Has it been treated or not?

P.S.

People who swim or wade in infested water may experience this itching rash. The swimmer may get the infection by swimming or wading in infested water and then allowing water to evaporate off the skin rather than briskly drying the skin with a towel. Person to person spread does not occur.

Most cases of swimmer's itch do not require treatment. However, corticosteroid creams, calamine lotion and colloidal oatmeal baths can be used to minimize the itching. It's important not to scratch, because scratching may cause the rash to become infected. If itching is severe, contact your health care provider who may prescribe lotion or creams to lessen your symptoms.

Towel down briskly right after leaving the water to help remove the parasites; sometimes the parasites can be rubbed off before they fully penetrate the skin.

• Take a shower immediately and dry off briskly after leaving the beach.

• Do not feed waterfowl. Feeding waterfowl may aggravate the problem by concentrating potential hosts in a limited area.

The allergic reaction of swimmer's itch can be extremely annoying but is not likely to be dangerous and will not spread. However, scratching the itch could cause infection. Swimmer's itch occurs throughout New York State and many other regions.
Try taking a shower instead of a bath. this way the water and dirt flow right off of your skin and you are not soaking your skin in water that is becomming dirty from having your body soak in it. Try to use a soap with less fragrance as this might cause irritation to your skin and dry your self thorougly after your shower. Pat dry your self with a towel. Do not rub the towel over your skin and the most important thing is to try and use corn starch on your body after you take the shower and are dried off.

Corn starch is a noatural skin rash healer but even though you do not have a skin rash you have itchy skin after taking your bath.

Remember:
1- Take a shower and not a bath. (very important)
2-Change to a milder soap.
3- You may want to try and bring a lemon into the shower and squeeze the lemon out on top of your skin in the shower. Lemon is a citrus and a natural anti-bacterial agent which may help to improve your skin itchiness and alleviate the problem.
4- Pat dry your self with the towel Do not rub the towel on your skin to dry yourself (This will help to prevent skin irritation
5- Use corn starch instead of regular medicated talcum powder. the corn starch is most important to use. Apply the corn starch over your body after drying off from the shower.

I hope this information will be helpful to you as I have done this in the past and it helps protect the skin. I always use the corn starch and a few times a week I use the lemon in the shower.

Good luck and I hope it helps your condition.
