Does chiropractic help with a cold??
Question: I was told that everything in your body relates to the spinal cord so if your neck and back feel good messages are sent through your spinal cord to the rest of the body and your overall health will improve. Cold, flu, whatever supposedly the chiropractor can knock it right out.
Answers: sure, a chiropractor can help with cold and flu - if they give you some robotussin or whatever
having your neck and back properly alligned is all well and good, and being relaxed does boost your immune system, but a virus such as a cold is a common thing, there are billions of them, and no matter what, you'll eventually get a cold
personally, I think chiropractors are quacks and any good Medical Doctor will tell you that. They are just in it to make money.
See your medical Doctor before you let a chiropractor do anything to you.
isn't chiropody to do with nails?
Chiropractics cannot cure a common cold, or cancer, or gout, or heart disease, diabetes, or anything else, except some maybe some aches and pains that even a physical therapist could handle.....
Yes! This is true. I have not had a cold since I started chiropractic care, no headaches.
It's hooey. Chiropractors are just masseurs with delusions of grandeur.
Yes. I know this from experience.
Flu is caused by a virus that traveled in the air to get to you-same with a cold-a spinal adjustment can get your immune system in good shape BUT other factors affect your health besides proper spinal alignment-if you do not get the adequate nutrition to fight off illness then a chiropractor cannot do you much good until you eat healthy again. If you are experiencing a lot of damaging stress the cause of the stress has to either be eliminated or you have to learn to handle without being stressed-not much a chiropractor can do until you learn to cope better. Although it is beneficial not all is solved by chiropractor.
Oracle is absolutely right. Chiropractic helps improve the functioning of the nervous system, which controls the immune system (and all body systems for that matter). I get adjusted regularly and haven't gotten sick at all this season, despite all sorts of bugs going around. But there are many other factors that affect the immune system as well, including stress and nutrition as she mentioned. I'd say if you find a great chiropractor who understands all these things, then go for it! You'll definitely be better off for it.

No i don't think a chiropracter can help with a cold. My son has had allergies and ashma, and our medical doctor sent him to the chiroprater 5 years ago for that and he has been med free since. A cold is air born your going to get it sooner or later. But if your willing to pay 50 to 80 dollors to try it go ahead, think you better of with some cold meds.
Chiropractors can adjust your sinuses and that will help with a cold. Try taking Vitamin C every hour for a few days that will help as well.
As for others that feel that chiropractic is a quack it is not. Ask your medical doctor what they pay for malpractice insurance each year? Then ask a chiropractor what they pay.

I haven't heard of that. Leukemia is an odd aliment to be worried about. It's not that common. Personally, I'd get leukemia before I'd eat a beansprout. They remind me of teeny-tiny yuppy aliens or so
