Medicine problem??
Question: I have the cold right now and my mom got Robitussin syrup but she got the Cough & Allergy instead of the Cold & Flu. Will that help me or will it make it worse... I have allergies too but at the moment my symtoms arn't from allergies their from my cold...
Answers: That should work. It does have some antihistimine in it, but it will most likely have cough suppressent and a nasal decongestant, as well. I assume these are the symptoms that you are trying to eliminate.
It will work fine, there isnt alot of difference between the two both will help with the cough and stuffy nose. The cold and flu will have tylenol in it so the fact that you're taking tylenol is good it will help with the achiness that the cold and allergy will not due it not having a pain reliever in it.
it should help you they all have similar ingredients.
syrups don't do much except for calm you (alcohol) anyway, so give it a go, it can't make it worse, the tylenol will help you feel better until the cold passes, I know how bad you feel, I have a cold too.
Hi Sassy, Robitussin (which has specific formulas of its products for helping with flu symptoms), to help quiet a cough associated with the flu.
Do not take Robitussin for the type of lasting cough that results from smoking, allergies, asthma, chronic bronchitis, or emphysema, or for coughs that bring up large amounts of mucus. Also get the doctor's approval before taking these products if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes.

Here's a different approach. Take Vitamin C and drink lots of liquids. Let your body fight it offf naturally and consequently strengthen your immune system to this bug. Next time it comes around, your body will fight it off much better since it's already been exposed to it. This is the exact idea behind the purpose of vaccinations. I've done this for years and I barely ever get a sniffle and I see hundreds of sick patients a week.
How's that for thinking outside the box and long term solution.
