The quickest way to recover from cough and flu??
Answers: Whatever ways you may try, please see a doctor if you have fever before embarking on any suggestions you may receive. To get rid of a cough fast, avoid cold drink and also things that will leave remnant along the lining of the throat, like groundnuts, messy fruit drinks like fresh orange(the fibre will stick on the lining of the throat which will make you cough). After every single cough, drink a gulp of water to smoothen the lining and push down whatever is causing the cough especially the phlem or mucus, if you cant spit it out. The phlems is the main thing that make the cough worst. If everytime you cough and there is mucus or phlem, try your best to spit it out.and immediately drink warm water. When you go to bed at night, standby a flask of warm water so that should you cough during sleep, get up and drink some warm water. It helps to bring down the coughing.Another important thing is never sleep with the fan switched on in front of you becos the wind can also make your cough worst., just turn the fan away from you if you need it on.As for the flu, as long as you dont have fever, it should go off in a weeks time, but if you are on medication, take them religiously if you want to get well soon.
Get plenty of rest and plenty of fluids. There are all kinds of over the counter drugs you can take to help relieve symptoms. You can also try tea with honey to soothe a sore throat. A friend told me to cut up fresh ginger root and steep it like a tea--it's turns out very weak but it helped clear up my stuffed up nose and sinuses. Some people swear by zinc or echnicea but neither has ever helped me. Mostly rest, rest, and more rest with lots of fluids is your best bet, though.
My mother has always told me that eating lots of onions and garlic(not raw)in cooked meals helps fight the bug.
According to nutritionist Patrick Holford , although there is no cure for colds the period of illness is shortened if you take 1000mg of Vitamin C twice a day. Once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Worth a try.
Drink luke warm water mixed with pure honey as much as you can.Mineral water would be preferable though not necessary.
For getting rid cough put some salt and pepper in honey, heat it and take it three times a day. Also try Blue Berry syrup if u can get hold of it at your nearest drug store.
There is a product called Cold-FX that is manufactured in Calgary, Alberta (CVS) whose main ingredient is Red Korean Panax Ginseng (the only ginseng worth buying). Anyway, they have a patented process putting this stuff together and, by, it works! There are heaps of reviews in respected medical journals to support this (might wanna check the archives of the Canadan Medical Association Journal. The stuff helps to stave off both cold and flu, but should you fall ill anyway symptoms are less severe and recovery time is shorter than otherrwise. You are hearing this from someone who has become very cynical about alternative medicine due to all the patently false claims made by many charlatans in the supplements industry. But, we do need to be balanced and fair and give credit where credit is due. Bye golly, it works.
Another thing that also helps is sucking those zinc losenges. Zinc helps to support immune system function, and one time when i felt myself falling sick when i was on a business trip and had positively no time for this i spent an entire day zinc-sucking and it successfully banished the cold/flu away. I was amazed, But buyer beware, zinc is a very powerful anti-oxidant also ..anything much more than 40-50 mg/day and you are starting to poison yourself. I guess it's ok for a couple of days as an emergency measure to take a higher than reccomended daily intake but be careful not to overdue. I shudder to think how much zinc i put away that day in the District of Columbia...

Lots of fluids. Enough water that you are peeing all the time! haha! Rest helps your body recuperate, so get plenty. Echinacea is good. I use Chamomile tea also. I helps me relax and puts me to sleep.
